Vol'jin launched Vanilla Mythic Dungeons on July 17, 2026 — the same day as Soggoth. Ascension describes this tier as the bridge between Heroic Dungeons and Mythic+: every classic vanilla boss gains newly added mechanics, higher damage checks, and improved loot tables tuned for level 60 CoA kits.

Power through Mythic dungeons to earn epic rewards, learn interrupt rotations on familiar encounters, and build the experience needed before pushing timed Mythic+ keystones with your guild.

How Mythic Differs from Heroic

Heroic (July 3 launch) elevated trash stats and loot ilvl. Mythic adds per-boss mechanic overhauls — new abilities, phase triggers, or add waves on encounters you thought you knew from Classic. Groups need voice comms, assigned interrupts, and Support specs for sustained throughput.

Mythic sits below Mythic+ keystone scaling. Think of it as structured 5-man raid prep: learn mechanics without affixes or timers, then graduate to keystones once your comp clears the full vanilla roster.

Recommended Compositions

Standard 5-man: Guardian Vanguard or Sun Cleric Seraphim tank, Sun Cleric Blessings or Starcaller Moon Priest healer, optional Ranger Farstrider Support, two DPS with hard interrupt coverage (Chronomancer Displacement, Cultist Corruption, Witch Hunter).

AoE-heavy trash still punishes groups without cleave — Barbarian Brutality, Necromancer Animation, Pyromancer Incineration excel. Save major cooldowns for Mythic-only boss phases announced in patch notes.

Progression Path After Mythic

Clear Mythic dungeons for pre-raid blues and essence materials, then join weekly world bosses (Setis through Kaldros) and Molten Core. Mythic dungeon experience directly prepares you for Mythic+ cache rewards on the Post-Launch Progression weekly loop.
