Blackwing Lair represents the current pinnacle of classic raid progression in Conquest of Azeroth at launch. Eight bosses across four wings test raid coordination — tank swaps on Broodlord, suppression room management, Vaelastrasz mind control, and the Nefarian finale with class-call mechanics adapted for CoA's expanded roster.
Tier 2 set bonuses from BWL define raid-ready gear for most classes. Several trinkets remain best-in-slot for entire progression phases. Clear Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair before attempting BWL on Mythic or Ascended.
Wing-by-Wing Overview
Broodlord: Tank swap discipline and cleave awareness. Melee stack behind boss; ranged handle occasional adds.
Suppression Room: Orb management and pathing through whelp gauntlet. Assign orb teams and CC for patrols — Chronomancer and Necromancer kits provide strong control.
