Conquest of Azeroth — All 21 Classes

Complete guide to every Conquest of Azeroth class — roles, specs, mechanics, and links to detailed class pages for all 21 original Project Ascension heroes.

Twenty-One Original Classes

Conquest of Azeroth replaces traditional WoW classes with twenty-one completely original heroes forged from Warcraft lore. Each class features a unique core kit available from level one, three or more specializations chosen at level ten, and deep customization through dual talent trees inspired by Dragonflight's design. Whether you want to command undead armies as a Necromancer, throw axes as a Barbarian, or bend time as a Chronomancer, CoA offers a genuinely new way to experience Azeroth.

Every class in this roster was designed from the ground up over nearly a decade of development. They are not reskins of existing WoW classes — each has distinct resources, mechanics, armor types, and visual identities. At level thirty, Ability Essences unlock further specialization through spec talent trees, ensuring no two players of the same class need play identically.

How Class Selection Works

You choose your class at character creation and select your primary specialization at level ten. This choice opens two talent trees: a class tree shared by all specs of that class, and a spec tree tailored to your chosen path. Respec options exist but choosing thoughtfully at level ten sets your identity for much of the leveling journey.

If you are unsure which class fits you, use our Class Picker tool to answer a few questions and receive recommendations. Beginners should also read our Best for Beginners guide, which highlights classes with straightforward mechanics and forgiving leveling curves.

  • Level 1–9: Core class kit only — learn fundamental abilities
  • Level 10: Choose specialization — class and spec talent trees unlock
  • Level 30+: Ability Essences drop — invest in spec tree for unique skills
