Conquest of Azeroth Wiki

Your complete guide to Project Ascension's Classic+ realm — 21 original classes, talent builds, walkthroughs, tier lists, and tools for conquering Azeroth anew.

What is Conquest of Azeroth?

Conquest of Azeroth is a free-to-play reimagining of Vanilla World of Warcraft from Project Ascension. It officially launched July 3, 2026 on the Vol'jin realm with 21 completely original, lore-driven classes and 70 unique specializations — including a new Support role. Expanded Azeroth adds new quests, zones, Mythic+ dungeons, Ascended raids, the Manastorm, Hybrid Risk PvP/PvE, Prestige mode, and new professions including Woodcutting and Woodworking.

Unlike Ascension's classless realms, CoA gives you a dedicated class identity with dual talent trees, class-specific mechanics, and deep customization through Ability Essences at level 30. It runs on the same launcher and client — select Conquest of Azeroth from the dropdown and join Vol'jin to begin your conquest. Every new player receives the Master Warchest and Vanity Sync bundle for free.

How is CoA different from regular Ascension?

Ascension classless realms let you mix any ability. CoA gives you one of 21 original classes with dedicated kits, specs, and talent trees — a more traditional class-based experience with entirely new heroes.

How do I connect to the CoA realm?

Open the Ascension Launcher, click the dropdown above Play, select Conquest of Azeroth, install if prompted, then launch and choose the Vol'jin realm at character select.

When do I pick my specialization?

At level 10 you choose your primary spec, unlocking both class and specialization talent trees inspired by Dragonflight's design.

What is the best class for beginners?

Barbarian, Ranger (Archery), and Witch Doctor are the most beginner-friendly due to straightforward mechanics and strong solo performance.

Does CoA have Mythic+ dungeons?

Yes. CoA includes Mythic+ vanilla dungeons with scaling difficulty, timers, and enhanced rewards alongside multiple raid difficulty tiers.

Can I play CoA on the same account as other Ascension realms?

Yes. One account, one client, one patch. Switch between CoA, Classless, and other realms from the realm select screen.
